Islam stands for peace. Ahmadiyya Muslim community presents the real picture of Islam.

The true victory of Islam, as is evident from the word 'Islam' (submission) itself, lies in our complete surrendering our selves to God and freeing ourselves of our egos and our passions. No idol, whether it is the idol of our desires, our our intentions, or the idol of creature worship, should stand in our way, and we should submit ourselves entirely to the will of God. After reaching this state of Fana (self-annihilation), we will attain baqa (the life of eternity) which will give our eyes a new light, our minds a new passion; and we will become a wholly new being and the same Eternal God will become for us a new God. This is the true victory, and one aspect of it is Divine ammunion.(the green announcement p. 28)

"whenever one wishes to speak about Islam as a religion of peace, the question naturally springs to mind is that where as there are so many religions in the world such as Judaism,Christianity, Hinduism e.t.c., when it comes to find out whether Islam is a religion of peace, why should Islam be the odd out?
One reason for this is that a few years after the beginning of Islam, anti-Islamic powers began a propaganda that Islam is a religion of extremism and violence and want to compel other into belief by means of the sword. This of course is incorrect. In the beginning, the Muslims of Makkah suffered persecution but they remained silent. Finally, they migrated to madina but there too the disbelievers hounded the Muslims and forced upon them a battle to which I will revert later. The proof against those opponents who allege that Islam was spread by the sword is that although the disbelievers of Makkah raised all sorts of objections, yet history stands witness to the fact that people of Makkah themselves never complained that the Muslim had used the sword against the disbelievers to compel them to change their faith." ( Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad khilifatul Masih 5th)
